Survivors will start airing on BBC One at the end of November between
the 22nd-28th, time and date to be confirmed:
Julie Graham, Max Beesley, Paterson Joseph, Zoe Tapper,
Phillip Rhys, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Freema Agyeman star in Adrian Hodges's exciting new six-part action-adventure-drama series.
Imagine being the only survivor of a disease that
kills every member of your family, that kills lovers, strangers and friends – in fact, nearly everyone you've ever met.
You are among the lonely few to live and now you must start over in a strange new world where everything that was once safe
and familiar is now strange and dangerous.
Set in the present day, the drama series focuses
on the world in the aftermath of a devastating virus which wipes out most of the world's population. What would we do? How
would any of us cope in a brave, new world where all traditional 21st-century comforts – electricity, clean running
water, advanced technology – have disappeared?
These are the questions faced by the bewildered but
resilient group of survivors at the centre of the drama. It is an opportunity for new beginnings, but with no society, no
police and no law and order. They now face terrible dangers – not just the daily struggle for food and water but also
the deadly threat from other survivors.
Survivors is a re-imagining of the classic Seventies
BBC drama series, based on the novel by Terry Nation.
Freema Agyeman is Jenny; Nikki Amuka-Bird is Samantha
Willis; Max Beesley is Tom Price; Shaun Dingwall is David; Julie Graham is Abby Grant; Paterson Joseph is Greg; Phillip Rhys
is Al; Zoe Tapper is Anya and newcomer Chahak Patel is 11-year-old Najid.
Viewers can catch up on every episode of Survivors
at any time during the series, using the new "Series Stacking" function on BBC iPlayer. Rather than individual episodes only
being available for seven days, series stacking means viewers will be able to enjoy any episode, after its first broadcast,
for the duration of the entire series.
Survivors is also being shown on BBC HD – the
BBC's High Definition channel available through Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media. With up to five times more detail than standard
definition television, HD gives exceptionally vivid colours and crisp pictures, making Survivors a truly cinematic TV experience.
Viewers can also decide how they would choose to
live and find out what kind of survivor they would be through Survivors Interactive at bbc.co.uk/survivors.
27/10/2008 Little Dorrit .. Catch Up With Episode 1!
Freema Agyeman was thrilled to be invited to play Tattycoram in Little
Dorrit.
Tattycoram is the foundling who becomes a companion to Mr and Mrs
Meagles' (Bill Paterson and Janine Duvitski) daughter Pet (Georgia King).
"I've always wished I could be involved in a period drama because
I'm an enormous fan of them," beams Freema, who achieved huge and deserved fame as Doctor Who's companion, Martha Jones.
"So I was bowled over when they asked me to play Tattycoram. I'd never
had such a chance before, so I bit their hand off! It was a massive opportunity, and I couldn't possibly turn it down."
Freema, who has also starred as Martha in Torchwood, continues: "I
was equally delighted because Tattycoram is not written as a black part. She's an orphan, and in the 1820s there was a general
prejudice against anyone who wasn't from an upper-class background. So the idea transposed well to a black character."
The actress, who is also headlining in major new BBC One drama, Survivors,
goes on to outline her character in Little Dorrit.
"She's an orphan from a foundling hospital. The Meagles had twin daughters,
but one died so they have taken Tattycoram in to be a companion to the surviving twin, Pet, who is lonely and spoilt.
"Tattycoram is raised as one of them, but is still treated like the
help. She's stuck between classes; she dresses like the rest, but is viewed slightly differently. The Meagles are not malicious
- they just don't realise they're treating her like that.
"Tattycoram's generally meek, but her tempestuous nature is revealed
when Miss Wade arrives. Everything comes to a head then, and Tattycoram decides to leave. The family never expected that,
but she couldn't put up with being treated like that forever."
Freema, who is currently shooting a new contemporary drama, Law And
Order, thinks Little Dorrit will work well on television because Charles Dickens is such a master story-teller.
"The series has 70-plus characters, but they're all colourful, beautifully
drawn and skilfully interwoven to form this one grand tapestry.
"It's also still so relevant. It has so many pertinent things to say
about love and money today. You could put Little Dorrit and EastEnders side by side and audiences would instantly connect
with both of them."
What Freema has enjoyed above all else is the camaraderie amongst
the cast.
"We just sit around chatting between takes - it's been brilliant.
Bill Paterson and Janine Duvitski are adorable, and Maxine Peake is such a breath of fresh air.
"I was asking Andy Serkis about his glamorous career the other day,
and I caught myself sitting there with my mouth open.
"I thought, 'what am I doing? Act cool!' But the great thing, Andy
is amazingly down to earth. All in all, Little Dorrit has been such a great experience for me!"
A trailer of Little Dorrit can be seen below:

Dorrit, which you can watch online here.

04/09/2008 Torchwood Lost Souls Trailer
"Somewhere out there in that chaos of darkness and light, of science
and protons, of gods and stars and death... somewhere there's an answer."
The Torchwood Institute was founded by Queen Victoria in 1879 to protect
the British Empire against the threat of alien invasion. By 2008, all that remains of the organisation is a small team based
in Cardiff. And now, following the tragic deaths of two of their colleagues, the remaining three - Captain Jack Harkness,
Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones - have to protect the human race against another unknown force from the darkness.
Martha Jones, ex-time traveller and now working as a doctor for a
UN task force, has been called to CERN - the world's largest particle physics laboratory in Geneva - where they're about to
activate the Large Hadron Collider. The LHC is a particle accelerator, which has been built deep underground in a 27 km tunnel
under Switzerland and France. Once activated the Collider will fire beams of protons together recreating conditions a billionth
of a second after the Big Bang - and potentially allowing the human race a greater insight into what the Universe is made
of. But so much could go wrong - it could open a gateway to a parallel dimension, or create a black hole - and now voices
from the past are calling out to people and scientists have started to disappear...
Where have the missing scientists gone? What is the secret of the
glowing man? What is lurking in the underground tunnel? And do the dead ever really stay dead?
Lost Souls is a spin-off from the award-winning BBC Wales TV production
Torchwood. It stars John Barrowman, Freema Agyeman, Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd, Lucy Montgomery (of Titty Bang Bang) and
Stephen Critchlow.
Time: Wednesday 10th September, 2.15pm

today, how the Doctor effected Rose Tyler's life:
"She found this person who has made her celebrate life and humanity,
and said: 'Look, you should have this zest for life because here are the reasons why it's great. Sometimes you need someone
to shake you and make you look at what's going on around you and make you want to be a better person."
Freema Agyeman will also be back as Martha Jones. Russell T Davies
says: "The tragedy of the Doctor and Martha's relationship' was that she fell quietly in love with him,"
So will sparks fly between Martha and Rose over the Doctor?
Freema won't say but says simply: "there's a wonderful moment that
just emphasises how much he needs them all in different ways and how they are very much part of a team within his life."
15/06/2008 New Martha Jones Novel Details
The new set of Doctor Who novels, due to be released in December 2008, will feature The Story Of Martha
which will tell the whole story of what really happened to Martha Jones as she roamed the Earth to spread the word of the
Doctor...
The Story Of Martha by Dan Abnett, with David Roden, Steve Lockley
and Paul Lewis, Robert Shearman, and Simon Jowett
For a year, while the Master ruled over Earth, Martha Jones travelled
the world telling people stories about the Doctor. She told people of how the Doctor has saved them before, and how he will
save them again.
This is that story. It tells of Martha's travels from her arrival on Earth as the Toclafane attacked
and decimated the population through to her return to Britain to face the Master. It tells how she spread the word and told
people about the Doctor. The story of how she survived that terrible year.
But it's more than that. This is also a
collection of the stories she tells - the stories of adventures she had with the Doctor that we haven't heard about before.
The stories that inspired and saved the world . . .
